About the Course
This course is the last of the JHSC courses required by WorksafeNB for Joint Health and Safety Committee members. Participant must have completed the 5 e-courses offer by WorksafeNB before attending this course. The curriculum consists of 6 hours of "workshop" type of instructions and learning.
Learning objectives include:
Reviewing and locating specific sections of the OH& S Acts and Regulations.
Identifying gaps within various health and safety reports.
Conducting a risk assessment.
Analyzing incident reports.
Formulating recommendations for improvements.
Assessing current JHSCs.
Requirements: Participants must:
have completed the 5 e-courses from WorksafeNB before attending.
have access to a dedicated computer or laptop with functioning speakers and camera. The camera must be on at all times during the course.
attend the full 6 hours of the course.
Course material will be sent to participants by email 1 week before the start date.

Lee Laverdure is a seasoned professional in the field of emergency management and health & safety. Currently, she is the general manager and principal consultant of Atlantic Safety Works. Lee holds the reputable Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation and has a wealth of experience from her previous roles at Enerplus Corp, Talisman Energy, Vertex Resources Group and the Alberta Energy Regulator. She earned her Master's degree in Disaster and Emergency Management from Royal Roads University and the Environmental Health and Safety Certification from the University of Calgary. Since moving to New Brunswick, she has been a valuable resource for businesses in the manufacturing, transportation, sawmill, construction, and food production industries.
